Random Things That Make Me Go Hmmmmm....

I have been on the Internet non stop for the last few days. My retinas are becoming detached and my eyes are burning from reading so much.

So tonight when the dog barfed on the bed and I realized that it was time to wake up and smell the, well.....barf, I went into the kitchen and realized just how out of it I have been.

I mean, I haven't been neglecting things like the kids or other important stuff, but I can tell that my mind was elsewhere when doing certain things.

Like the salt for instance.

I started making Mac and Cheese, and realized I had put the salt in the cupboard upside down with the little twisty top open. I lifted it to find a nice salt pile awaiting me.

Then there was the whole diaper thing. Apparently I put Rhett's wet diaper in the dirty clothes hamper rather than the diaper pail. (In all defense it was a cloth diaper, not a disposable so I was thinking in the right general area.)

The potty trained thing? Well, we had a major setback with that after my mom watched Rhett for a day. She got upset at him because he stood up from the potty and pooped on the floor, so now he is afraid to use the potty.

SIGHS.

So after all of this, I started to wonder about random things.

Like am I the only one to pick up a washcloth thats hanging off of the tap from the sink and wipe down counters or the kitchen table only to smell your hands afterwards and it smells like mildew?

Does anyone else forget that last load of laundry for the week and leave it in the washer for a few days, and every time you walk past the laundry room think, what the H-E-double-hockey-sticks is that smell?!?!

What about forgetting to hang up towels in the bathroom after you have taken them down and put them in the laundry. Are you often found running buck a** naked through the house to the laundry room where the towels are stored just to get a clean towel?

What about drinking milk from the carton? Do you ever smell it and take a swig before pouring it in your kids glass "just to make sure it's safe to drink?"

Have you ever looked at your kids sitting in the middle of the floor watching TV with a box of Cheez Its and think, "Eh, they have been eating all day. That will do for dinner."

Also, can I count swimming as their bath for the day?

I know. Eww huh?

I'm just keepin it real folks. Keepin it real.

Oh, and for the record? I am totally back in my blogging mood and coming out of this funk.

Oh how good it feels.

That's right, you are so not alone, I am famous for forgetting the clothes! And I am glad I'm not the only one who has forgotten a meal.It all sounds too familiar, but I really love it when someone else says it,makes me feel like I'm doing OK.

Once I forgot some veggies in microwave for like 2 days and no one could figure out where the stink was coming from!

I have to admit I have a load in the dryer that's been there for 2 days and will now have to be rewashed because it has dress shirts that will be way wrinkled and I"m not! going to try to iron them out.

And the stinky wash cloth thing. I hate that. It seems like my hand will smell for the rest of the day, and how can my hubby not smell that.

Thanks for keeping it real!

Oh ya, the pool is a great bathtub. My kids don't run naked. They just scream bloody murder for me to get them a towel. See you tomorrow.

That is so right! I say some of the same things. Especially the SNACKING and EATING all day.. that will suffice for dinner. And I am one to give them cereals sometimes too.. lmao! WE ARE HUMAN! Motherhood is not found in a book, even though some think so.. hmm

Oh, its Queen Mama from the AR crap!

True that!! I always smell the milk before pouring and it is so out of habit. Laundry, it just never stops does it!

Feeding my kids pop tarts for lunch and cereal for dinner....is that really a problem? They love it and it's all about the kids right??? LOL

Well I don't have kids, but I have forgotten to feed my cat a couple times this week. Does that count??

By the way, I was cracking up at the "h-e-double hockey sticks" part. I saw that all the time when I want to say that word! LOL

Hmmm..I have forgotten the laundry for a day or two in the washer. But, I haven't done anything else like forget to feed Pixie. Of course, I foresee this happening when I have more than one child and less brains. I think my sister would totally love this post and would really identify with it! She has three kids and one on the way in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the giggles!

Yep, I can relate with the laundry smell issues... but in case you are interested, I finally found a cure for the dishrags and towels. It seemed like they didn't smell good even after washing again and again, but the trick is white vinegar, about a cup in a load of wash. And it will all come out smelling sweet once again! I use it alot for things with kid spit-up and icky stuff on it. Anything that could sour and smell gross.

Oh and I put the salt and pepper in the fridge occasionally... sad but true. :)

I'm not admitting which (all) of those I've done. I don't drink the milk though. I hate milk. I will smell it. Today I poured Peanut a milk and it was major bad and cottage cheese like. I don't know why, either. It had a few more days. I think someone left it out too long before returning it to the fridge. No need to taste that one! But, still I smelled it. Why? I don't know? I think I thought maybe it had frozen and it was ice not clumps. I just couldn't imagine it had gone bad. Oh yeah, it stunk! Nothing worse than sour milk.
