Taylor Swift Here We Come!!!

We played hooky today. Well, not the whole day. Rhett actually went to school, then when he got home I went and picked up Hunter and Chloee because we had somewhere to be.

Anyone recognize this guy?

That just happens to be David Osmond whom you might recognize from this season of American Idol. Ya, too bad he got thrown off just because he had a case of laryngitis, because seriously, the guy can sing, and he is so sweet too.

Anyways, I'm getting side tracked.

So, since we found out that Taylor Swift is coming to Utah, and I wasn't able to buy tickets for Chloee due to our financial situation...(yes, I did look on craiglist at the scalpers and about choked on my Coke, nothing like ripping desperate people off)...I have been trying my heart out to win some tickets on KBULL, which is a country station in our state.

I have gotten really frustrated as I can never get through on the line when they were doing like Taylor Tuba and such.

So the other day I saw on their website that they were doing a contest at one of the malls in Salt Lake today, partnering with Operation Smile. All you had to do was send in a photo of your best smile, and tell them why you and your BFF wanted to go to see Taylor.

Of course Chloee and I are BFF's for many reasons.

The catch was, that you had to be present to win. So Chloee, Hunter, Rhett, and I all went and sat around the KBULL table for 2 hours today waiting for the chance to have Chloee meet with the judges, which was one of the DJ's from KBULL, The owner of Mrs Fields Cookies, and David Osmond.

Chloee kept asking me what to say to them, and I told her just to be herself and answer their questions, show them what a true Taylor Swift fan she is. So she got a minute and a half to plead her case.

She started out by singing the first part of Love Story before even talking to them. Then she told them how her brother has been in the hospital alot, and she wants time with just mom. (I am BEAMING with pride by now, bless her heart.) she told them how old she was, and that she really loved Taylor. Then she gave them a great smile, and that was that.

So we waited a bit more, and then they gathered all of the contestants around and told us how impressed they were about all of our knowledge of an artist who hasn't been around for very long, and they said they were impressed with every one's unique story.

Then, they announced that Chloee was the winner.

She was so excited. She was jumping up and down, and you couldn't wipe that smile off of her face for anything. It was amazing.

One of the questions that the judges asked was, if we didn't win the tickets who we would choose that was in line to have them, and there were these really cute girls in front of us who were friends. Chloee really liked them, so she chose them.

However according to the judges, nearly everyone who was in line said that they would choose Chloee to win if they couldn't.

She is such an amazing little girl, and makes a huge impact on everyone she meets. I am so blessed to be her mommy.

So on May 26th, Chloee and I will be heading to see Taylor Swift in concert.

I am so proud that my little singer gets to go, she deserves it so much. Especially since the Friday after the concert is her surgery for her tonsils and adenoids.

Today was a reminder to me, that anything you set your mind to it can be done. Now I wonder if I should set my mind to winning back stage passes.

Nah. I won't be greedy. This turned out far better than I ever thought it would.

Dreams really do come true, and there is always a silver lining.
