Pow Pow!!

Rhett is such a boy. I don't think the kid has any type of feminine bone in his body.

When he gets older and someone tells him he needs to get in touch with his feminine side, the closest he will get is smacking a friend on the butt after a good play in sports or something.

I know. He has a disablity. He's still gonna play sports. Even if it can't be contact sports, he will play. I just know it.

So there.

A day in our house can be full of phrases that many would think are off the wall, and wondering why we teach our kids these things.

The answer is simple.

It's funny as hell.

Rhett loves to come up to you and say "Whaddup Homey!!!" He'll ask you to "Give Me Some Skin!!", and "Knuckles Dude."

He can also sing the theme songs to Signing Time, Jacks Big Music Show, Sesame Street, Sponge Bob, and iCarly. In fact Carly is one of his favorites. You know how at the end of the song they show the clips Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Spencer all rubbing their belly's?

Ya. If your not careful Rhett will lift your shirt up in public and go "Woo Woo Woo!!"

I am quite sure that there are many people who have been going about their day minding their own damn business when they have gotten a shot of my stretch marky flabby awesome belly.

Many may now be traumatized for life.

Ahem.

Now that I have gotten totally side tracked, and you are wondering what the Pow Pow!! title is all about, let me get right to that.

See Hunter and Rhett play alot. Hunter is 10 going on 18, so he teaches Rhett alot of things. Some good and some not so good. Right now they are into guns.

I know. My 3 year old is playing guns with my 10 year old, condemn me now.

Anyhow, Hunter has taught Rhett to say "Pow Pow!!" When he is shooting a gun. or anything that looks like a gun for that matter. So when Rhett shoots Hunter, Hunter rolls his eyes in the back of this head and falls to the ground, sticks his tounge out and says, "BLEH!!!"

Recently Rhett has decided that he can play dead just as well, so Hunter has been shooting him, and Rhett has been awesome at playing dead. He does it just as well if not more dramatic than Hunter does.

Heh. Forget sports, maybe acting is in Rhett's future.....

But seriously you should see it. It's hilarious. These kids are so freaking funny together and the bond they have is amazing.

Of course this whole playing dead thing has lead to certian issues, like at my Grandma's funeral someone was telling one of their kids that Grandma H had died, and Rhett signed Grandma and fell to the floor, lolled his tounge out and said "BLEH".

Somehow I think Grandma was laughing at how funny Rhett is and telling everyone how impressed she is with how well he has done thus far in life.

Granted I am also super thankful that nobody but Andy, my sister, my mom, and I were the only ones who knew what he was doing.

Lesson Learned on that one, and of course Andy and I didn't come home and laugh till our guts hurt about it either.

Even in the toughest situations our family has learned that humor is a great way to get through things.

We laugh alot around here.

Anyhow. I know I have been slacking on my blogging. You can all beat me over the head. I don't know why but my heart hasn't been into it lately. I think I have just needed a break to regroup who I am now that my life isn't revolving 24/7 around Rhett.

I don't want to say I am getting comftroable with everything, because when I do that something generally happens.

But you know, things have been good. Much better than the last three years. The past few weeks Rhett has had some type of a cold or virus or whatever, and last year at this time he would have been in the hospital. However this year he seems to kick them pretty good. He's had Rotovirus, Pink Eye, a Sinus Infection, and Bronchitis. But he has done amazingly well.

I'll admit there were a few times I wondered if I should take him to the ER, but we only needed to go get loaded up on fluids to make it through another week or so of diarreha.

I am super impressed at how well his little body is kicking some serious butt at all of these illnesses.

I know it's silly to say I am proud of his little body, but it's true I am. He is an amazing kid with an amazing will to live. We each one of our kids, and are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Andy and I must have been some pretty boring people till these miracles were sent to us.

Carson runs around playing with his guns and he says things like mommy, I'm going to bang you. Yeah, we are really working on changing those words fast. It is so funny but unless you know Carson and I, people could really get the wrong image. haha

That is so true that they know at a very young age that they are boys and they seem to have no feminine side to them! My Ricky would LOVE playing with your boys! He is "all boy" too and he loves teaching his little brother all the naughty boy stuff that he can!! Ricky does the same "playing dead" routine as well! Boys....gotta love them!!!

Having big brothers can be good and bad, I've found that out. But they will be great friends forever.

I would just love to hear Rhett say Whaddup homey!! LOL I'm glad the boys are having so much fun with each other, even if they are shooting each other! hehe

I emailed you back about Chloee's necklaces. I'll try emailing you again, I wasn't sure if you got it! :)

So glad to hear that Rhett is doing so well kicking some germie butts! I have to tell you that I laughed out loud when I read the part about Rhett dropping to the ground at the funeral. Bet it was absolutely adorable!

I'm with Colleen - I want to see a video of Rhett saying all of his funny phrases. And I wouldn't mind seeing him singing along with the TV, too. He is too darn cute!!
