Please Help Spread The Word.....

Okay Bird Flock readers, I really neeed your help.

~This is super easy, so stay with me on this. As I have mentioned before, Our goal is to do weekly giveaways and reviews on products. But I am adding a twist on this. All of the products that I will be giving away will be geared towards families that have children with special needs.

All of the products that will be given away will either enhance the lives of those with disabilites, or just be something fun for these special kids.

I mean after all, don't they go through enough? I think they deserve something fun every now and again.

I am amazed at the support that has come from the companies that I have contacted. I have so much to review and give away. You all are going to love this.

BUT, and here is where you come in. I need you to help spread the word. I know there are so many people out there who would love to be a part of this, and who could benifit from the products that I will be giving.

Obviously we don't have a whole lot of money to advertise this, so I need help with word of mouth. If each one of you that reads this could just write a little blog or email, with a link to The Bird Flock, then we could reach so many families.

I eventually would like to make this a much bigger project, but for now we are starting out small.

Don't worry, this won't turn into a big commercial blog. We are going to keep it all about Chicken Little, and the rest of the Bird Family. Eventually if this project gets big enough, I plan on creating a new website.

This is just a small way of paying it forward to the many people that have helped us, so please help us out. If you have Twitter, then Tweet about it. If you have Facebook, write a note. Whatever you can do to let people know that we have lot's of free stuff to give away.

~Come on, puh-lease don't make me get down on my knees and beg. I know you don't want to see a grown woman do that.

Now, for an update on Hunter and Rhett.

We took Hunter into the Dr. yesterday. Many of you were right. He is having a severe reaction to something, but we don't know what. He started getting welts the size of dimes and I knew that we had to get him in.

He is now on steriods and benadryl. The welts are gone, but his rash is still bright red and covering his whole body. He is miserable.

I don't know how many of you know this, but Hunter has had severe food allergies, as well as enviormental allergies since he was born. He has Epi-pens that we carry around with us everywhere we go.

However, I haven't seen him have an allergic reaction like this since he was 4.

When he was 6 months old we nearly lost him while we were camping. He went into anaphylactic shock. It was super scary. It's been so long since he has had a reaction like what he is having now, I had forgotten what it looked like.

Guess that's what I get for getting too comftroable in a situation.

You'd think that I would totally have learned my lesson by now.

So anyhow, Hunter is out of school and staying close by me. We can't send him until this is all cleared up. The last thing I need is for him to get into something else that he is allergic to, and end up in shock again.

Especially where in our city, the EMT's aren't allowed to give shots of epi to someone who is in anaphylatic shock.

~Don't even get me started on that one.

Okay, now for Mr. Rhett. Tomorrow we go visit with the Pulmonolgist, and schedule another sleep study. I haven't tried getting him used to the CPAP again yet because I will have to start over again when we move, and I really don't have the emotional energy to do it twice in a month. Neither does Rhett for that matter.

For now we are just keeping him on oxygen, especially at night. He's not sleeping well, and neither am I. We're both pretty darn cranky.

He also is head banging alot more. His head has a perma-bruise/owie on it. I have found that if he listens to Hunter's iPod when he is upset, or overstimulated it calms him down. Only thing is that the iPod is way too fragile to just hand to a three year old, and the earphones don't fit in his ears.

So we are looking into getting him a Fisher Price FP3 Player. The Dr's at the Down syndrome clinic actually suggested it, and I must admit I thought they were crazy till I tried it one day. Listening to music really does help him get through being overstimulated. Who'd have thought eh?

My posts are going to be scarce the next few weeks as we start moving. I am heading over to clean the condo today. The last renters didn't clean out the fridge, or the drawers or anything. Plus there's crayon all over some of the doors.

Our landlord is in AZ, and he won't be back till next week, so I am just going to clean it. After I take pictures for him of course.

Yeah.
