These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things....

Last night Rhett was having Bradycardia episodes where he was desating. Brady's for him aren't all that uncommon. His resting heart rate is generally around 45-57. But last night his O2 levels would drop every time his heart rate dipped. THAT is uncommon for him.

So we have a call into the Cardio, and will be seeing him soon. I imagine we'll have a holter monitor again.

Cause you know, this kid doesn't have enough wires and things hooked up to him as it is.

As I was watching the monitors I got out my camera and decided to take some pictures. See, if he's sleeping he can't pull funny faces, nor can he run away.

Heh. Mommy--1 Rhett--0...till he wakes up anyways.

I wonder some days if he will be going to high school with his binky in his back pack for nap time....

If only pictures could talk. These hands have so many stories to tell. They still bear scars and owies of his most recent IV pokes, and those pokes from the past.

Aren't these pigs just yummy looking? I love to eat Rhett's feet. I can't keep my grubby little hands off of them.

They may bear witness to his health issues, they still have scars from IV pokes as well, and he sports the ever beeping pulse ox on the toe every night wrapped in lovely coban. But none of these can take away from the little boy who giggles each night as we lie in bed tickling these piggies.

I'm the same way with Nik, too. I could watch him sleep for hours. Well, actually I'd *like* to watch him sleep for hours; that would mean he's actually sleeping! Hmmm...

I love the Black and White pics. I have played with my camera and taken some as well. Funny how 50 years ago they would have loved color pictures and now we want black and white. LOL

I have a question, is the bradycardia related to his hypertension? One of the signs for Left Ventricular Hypertrophy is hypertension and I have seen a few times just in clinic visits where Carson's BP was elevated and his Pulse Ox was running 89-92. (I know, Rhett is a lot lower but when Carson goes under 94 Children's always puts him on low flow O2).

As far as the NG, Carson is a 16 french 22". I would love to take over the tapes and NG's if you have any left over. The pedisure I'm actually going to be okay on. I signed up for WIC and they are giving me 96 a month. That means I only have to buy two 6 packs a month. SO if someone else needs that, I would love for them to benefit from that.

Take care and let me know what the Cardio says.

Sending prayers to your family and getting Rhett back in the rhythm.

I am one of "those" who lurk here... I am so glad that I found your post on Rhett's Journey before Monday... I read your blog every time that I am on my computer... I like to check in and see how Rhett's doing. We have prayed for him many times when he has been ill. Thank you for finding a way to keep even us strangers updated! Rhetts' feet really are cute! I like the black and white photos... You are a sneaky Mom taking those while he was asleep! Let's just hope that he doesn't try to return the favor on you someday! Hee!
Take care,
~ Teresa ~

Though Rhett is going through so much he looks very peaceful sleeping. I pray Rhett is okay.

With his coban on his foot brings back memories of my son when he was Rhett's age and sick. Blessings to your family Pam. Love Deb
