When Rhett had his fungal infection in his ear they did a blood draw. They ran a CBC, just because they always run it on him as well as a thyroid check.

The Dr. called me last week on Friday, and told me that Rhett's white blood count was a little on the low side. But nothing to alarm her. She just said that they wanted it re done in a week.

I'll admit, I thought WBC being low was actually good. It meant that he wasn't fighting some type of serious infection.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it meant the "C" word.

The last 4 days Rhett has been falling down every time I turn around. His poor body is covered with bruises.

BIG bruises. When I called the dr today to get the order for his follow up blood draw I was just mentioning that I thought maybe Rhett was going through a growth spurt because he couldn't stay on his feet.

She paused for a second and asked if I could bring him in.

We still don't have a, I think this is cancer word out of her. But I'm not dumb. I know how to use google.

So we are headed into the Dr and for testing. Please pray that there was a mistake of some kind on that last CBC, and that Rhett's WBC is back in the normal range. This is just not something that I can go through right now.

I would love for those bruises on his knees elbows and head just to be from a growth spurt. It's what I'm counting on. I won't let myself believe anything else.

This has to be one of those, we're just covering our bases type of things. I have debated about blogging about this because I don't want to overeact, but really, I think at this point we could just use all the prayers we can get.
