Disclaimer: If you don't want to listen to a whiny 30 yr old woman then please carry on and find another blog post to read. In no way shape or form do I claim to be perfect, and we all have bad days. Today is one of mine.
So. That being said. I am super stressed. I am.sick.and.freaking.tired.of wondering how we are going to pay bills each month, because each month we get thrown a curve ball in one way or another.
It can really wear on ones nerves ya know?
The end of the month/first of the month just makes me friggin crazy.
Rhett has been sick again. He has some type of weird fungus growing in his ear. It's draining and growing white things out of it.
My kid is moldy and he stinks.
Not that I don't love him and cuddle him every chance I get, but Eww.
We got word today that Medicaid is done. Andy makes too much. But it's not that much more than the income limit.
Story of our lives. We are trying to figure out what to do since we don't have any insurance until the 1st of June. At that point we will have insurance from Andy's work, and we will qualify for a program through the state that will help pay our insurance premiums.
It's been a rough month food wise. My kids are sick of Ramen Noodles, Mac and Cheese, and Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.
Quite frankly so am I.
Going two months without insurance, and all that money going to pay for needed things not only for Rhett but for Dakota as well really takes a huge chunk out of our budget, and it's not something we can put off. Just like the bills.
Rhett has been into the Dr's office 3 times this last month, and those visits are 62.00 a pop. Then you add in different meds, which are NOT cheap, along with regular meds and various medical supplies, and you get slammed. Hard.
Dakota's meds are pricey to say the least.
I have had some offers through emails that I am going to check up, as far as getting samples of Rhett's Elecare, as well as some great tips about reusing medical supplies. I wish there was a way to reuse Cavilon, the barrier that helps Rhett's tape stick to his belly. That stuff is precious here.
Thanks to those of you who have offered to help find ways to get samples and such. We are so blessed to have such an amazing support system.
Niksmom? You are my lifeline during the rough times and always have the best ideas, and we lubs you.
I know everyone is struggling right now, and I wish so bad that I could help others. I am sick of being on the receiving end. I want to be on the giving end. It always feels so much better to give than to receive ya know?
But you know what? It sure feels good to get all of it out of my head and blog about it. Somehow it makes it that much easier to deal with.
Things always work out in the end. I know we won't strike gold and become millionaires any time soon. But just as long as we are able to make the necessities I will be okay.
I'm a simple person. We're a simple family.
We don't need much. Mostly just each other.
And chocolate. Chocolate makes it all better too.
Of course Rhett would say that fruit snacks make everything better. The boy loves his fruit snacks.
Anyhow, just getting things out of my melon so I can sleep.
Tomorrow is a new day. On days like these, I like tomorrows.

Pam I'm so sorry. I wish I could help. I can't even imagine what ya'll are going through this just sucks. I'm always here if ya need a shoulder to "cry" on.
I am so sorry you are going thru this. I know how you feel. We do have insurance which is great. My husband works for the state. They just informed him we have to pay more for insurance and the copay is going up for meds and dr apt. He also has to take off 4 days a year without pay. If our income tax check doesn't come in we will have nothing to eat. I am even thinking of going to the food bank for food. Emily ask me if we could afford food that she wants to eat. It stinks being poor. I wish that I could help you.
You're right.. cavilon is GOLD! (Or at least it ought to be at a dollar a pop). Are you in need of any g-tube supplies? Email me and I'll see if I've got any extras of stuff.
Hang in there, things will get better.

Pam you Andy and the kids have been through so much it just hurts but.. I have a feeling good things are coming your way!
And what do you mean you are on the receiving end I think you have given alot of people hope, courage, and the knowledge that they are not alone in their own everday struggles, that alone is worth a mountain of gold.
I feel your pain we too are struggling to make ends meet with the economy falling on its ear and all. It's tough but we just keep chugging along.
Your an amazing person and have an amazing family!
We think of your family "OFTEN"
